Marco Sousa Santos
Marco Sousa Santos (1962) entrepreneurial spirit proved important in the recognition of his generation's Portuguese designers. He was the co-founder of Proto Design, where he conceived and coordinated multi-author projects that gave visibility to many of the new Portuguese designers of that period (1992 to 2002). He was also involved in the foundation of Experimenta Design, the Lisbon design biennale, acting as its artistic director between 1998 and 2001.
Since 2002 Sousa Santos is working under his own name, developing and providing consulting services and design projects for brands such as Moroso, Magis, Tronconi, Renault Paris, Vista Alegre, Atlantis, Mglass and also for us at TemaHome.
He recently embarked on a new venture, setting up the furniture brand Branca Lisboa. His works were already displayed at referential places as the Triennale in Milan, the Salon du Meuble in Paris and London’s Victoria & Albert Museum.
